Emily Belz (WJI 06) covered the inauguration of President Barack Obama. Emily reports for World magazine from Washington, D.C.

Terry Mattingly (WJI teacher 01) is scheduled to speak on a panel at Columbia University, New York, Monday, February 2. The topic is Blind Spot: When Journalists Don't Get Religion, based on the new book by the same name, to which Mattingly contributed.

Christina McGairk (WJI friend) has started an online magazine for single Christian women called Shine 5:16 Magazine Online. McGairk is looking for partners to help fund the new publication.

J. Stanley Oakes reassumed the role of President of The King's College on January 1. Oakes was diagnosed and treated for brain cancer in May 2007. After successfully battling the cancer, he was named chancellor of the college in January of 2008. The King's College is the host campus of the World Journalism Institute.
