WJI Buzz - Belz, Jarvis, Loconte, Smith

Adam Belz (‘04) started June 11, as the economy reporter for the Minneapolis Star Tribune. He is writing about jobs, trade, the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, and economic trends that affect the Upper Midwest. Belz is a graduate of Covenant College who worked at the Cedar Rapids Gazette for four years and the Des Moines Register for two years. He can be reached at adam.belz@startribune.com.

Dan Jarvis (‘01) is managing editor for Revive, a national magazine that reaches 20,000 pastors and 15,000 laypeople. He is a pastor and has also launched a city-wide magazine, LifeChange, for his community of Medina, Ohio. Michael R. Smith (teacher ‘04-11) was recognized by The Journalism Journeyman web site as one of the “Top 50 journalism professors in 2012.” Smith is professor of Communication Studies at Campbell University, author of three books, and served as WJI’s John McCandlish Phillips Chairholder in 2011.
