WJI Buzz: Looking at WJI's 2013 grads a year later

Where are they now? The 2013 World Journalism Institute graduates:

Aimee Staud (13') is a student at Patrick Henry College. After WJI, Stauf interned with WORLD Magazine's radio program, The World and Everything In It, over the summer and into the Fall 2013 semester for a few hours a week.

Rachel Aldrich (13') is a student at Patrick Henry College. Since WJI, she has written stories for WORLD Magazine's website and launched a book review series with WORLD.

Sarah Taddeo (13') is a graduate of Syracuse University. For six weeks after WJI, Taddeo interned at the Democrat and Chronicle (a Gannett newspaper) in Rochester, N.Y. After that, she left for an exchange program in Istanbul, Turkey, to finish her last semester at Syracuse University with a degree in Newspaper and Online Journalism.

Kate Benedetti (13') is a student of Union University. After WJI ended, she went back home to Collierville, TN and spent the rest of the summer interning with the local paper in Collierville.

Kate Speer (13') is a student at Patrick Henry College. After WJI, Speer interned with the Observer Reporter over the summer, and then has interned with WORLD Magazine reporter Mindy Belz since August.

Crystal Plum (13') is a teacher and student of East Carolina University. Since WJI, Plum acquired a teaching position instructing K-1st grade special education students at Etowah Elementary School outside of Asheville, N.C. She is also finishing up teaching coursework at East Carolina University.

Jeremy Li (13') is a student of Ithica College. After WJI, Li continued writing for his college newspaper.

Andrew Branch (13') is a graduate from North Carolina State University. After WJI, Branch took a position freelancing with WORLD Magazine. In October, he started working at Bleacher Report copy editing for an internship through December. Now, Branch is a WORLD Correspondent on the Sports beat.

Alissa Robertson (13') is a student at Patrick Henry College. After WJI, Robertson continued to write and intern for WORLD Magazine's online news page on the abortion beat. She is currently Dr. Marvin Olasky's Editorial Assistant as she continues school at PHC.

Graham Gettel (13') is a student at Denison University. After WJI, Gettel studied in Spain for a semester and is preparing for an internship this summer in South Carolina.

Johannah Willett (13') is a graduate of Arizona State University. After WJI, she acquired a paid internship at the Arizona Daily Star, where she is still working.

Grace Wong (13') is a graduate of the University of Southern California. After WJI, Wong acquired a paid internship at the Long Beach Press-Telegram. Wong then officially signed on to be a reporter for the Los Angeles News Group, writing for the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
