David Brooks (speaker 10)’s most recent book is The Social Animal: The Hidden Sources of Love, Character, and Achievement (Random House). Brooks is a columnist for The New York Times.

Lana Douglas (10) is a WJI-funded intern at the News & Observer (Raleigh, N.C.) at the Chapel Hill office. Her responsibilities include writing various stories for publication and taking photographs. Douglas is a graduate of Bryan College and can be reached at ldouglas1987@gmail.com.
