Press Release - FOX’s Lauren Green Headlines New York Journalism Course

New York, NY—FOX News anchor and reporter Lauren Green will be the closing dinner speaker for the 11th annual New York journalism course of the World Journalism Institute.
The college-level, multi-week course will focus on convergence media and will stress videography, internet reporting, blogging, photojournalism as well as newspaper writing. Paid internships in mainstream newsrooms will be awarded to the most promising graduates.
The journalism instruction will be coordinated by the 2009 WJI McCandlish Phillips scholar Dr. Michael Longinow of Biola University. Manny Garcia (Miami Herald), Clayton Sizemore (CNN), and Kenny Irby (Poynter Institute) will lead multi-day workshops. Daylong seminars will be taught by Russ Pulliam (Indianapolis Star) and Mira Lowe (Ebony/Jet magazine). Dr. Anthony Bradley (Covenant Theological Seminary) is the 2009 WJI Francis Schaeffer scholar and will begin the course with a multi-day component on Christian worldview. Robert Case (WJI) will augment Dr. Bradley's teaching with a series of discussions on the intersection of Christianity and journalism.
The course begins May 11 at The King's College in New York City and ends July 4, 2009. The first three weeks are in residence in New York. The last five weeks are completed from the student's home.
