Doug Trouten received his undergraduate education at Crown College in Minnesota, studied at Wheaton Graduate School, and earned his Master of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota. He is currently the executive director of the Evangelical Press Association, the professional organization for the evangelical periodical publishing industry. Trouten worked as a journalist in Christian media for two decades, primarily as editor of a regional Christian newspaper (Minnesota Christian Chronicle) and as director of an international news service (EP News). He is the founder of the Christian Newspaper Association. Trouten teaches journalism at Northwestern College in Roseville, Minnesota.
