Seth Mnookin is a former media writer for Newsweek, where he also covered politics and popular culture. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, New York magazine, The New York Times Book Review, Spin, Slate, Salon, The New York Observer, and other publications. He began his journalism career as a rock critic for the now-defunct webzine Addicted to Noise, and has also worked as a crime reporter (at The Palm Beach Post), as a city hall reporter (at the Forward), and as a political reporter (at Brill's Content). He graduated from Harvard College in 1994 with a degree in the History of Science, and was a 2004 Joan Shorenstein Fellow at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. He lives in Manhattan.
