Jill Lacey

Biography

Jill Lacey has written extensively on philanthropy and volunteerism for 20 years, serving as Editor of Compassion and Culture for 17 years of those years. More recently she has traveled internationally researching NGOs and international aid with an eye towards promoting best practices of effective compassion. She is a nationally recognized expert on volunteerism and has testified before Congress regarding National Service. She has been published in several publications including the Detroit News, The Chronicle of Philanthropy and the San Diego Union Tribune.

Jill worked as a speechwriter, research associate, and public relations assistant for several non-profit organizations in Washington D.C.  Before entering the communications field she worked as a business development analyst and program manager for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from St. Peters College in New Jersey.
