Biography

Mike Allen is the chief political correspondent for Politico. He came to Politico from Time magazine where he was their White House correspondent. Before turning to national politics, he wrote about Doug Wilder, Oliver North, Chuck Robb and the Bobbitts for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. He has also worked for theWashington Post and the New York Times. Mr. Allen is the 2004 recipient of the White House Correspondents’ Association’s Merriman Smith Memorial Award for outstanding presidential coverage under deadline pressure for his work covering President George W. Bush’s secret trip to Baghdad for Thanksgiving.
