Her professional career began as an Editorial Trainee with Country Home magazine, a Better Homes and Gardens publication. Her work as a features writer has received top honors, including awards from the Missouri Associated Press and the American Academy of Dermatology. Townsel received her Bachelor’s degree in magazine journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has actively mentored youth since graduation. Today, she resides in a northern St. Louis suburb with her college-sweetheart husband and their two sons.

"I'm excited that students and speakers alike will be encouraged to see how God works in the details, how it's possible to be true to your beliefs and your profession and how each person's experience is uniquely different. I think it's going to be a weekend of encouragement and renewal." -  Lisa Jones Townsel, St. Louis Post-Dispatch
