Andrée was born André Mailloux in mostly French Canadian town in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, in 1951, and educated in the Catholic tradition. She graduated from Assumption College in Worcester, Mass., in 1973. The following year, she stumbled upon Francis Schaeffer’s L’Abri in Switzerland where she read The God Who is There, a book that changed her life. She graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary in 1979, married, and had four children. Her husband died in 1999. She is a Senior Writer for World magazine and a former teacher for the World Journalism Institute. For eight years was manager of Westminster’s café. With the closure of the café, she has taken a position as English teacher for a Christian school in Philadelphia. In early 2006 she published her first book, Won’t Let You Go Unless You Bless Me, a collection of 30 of her favorite World columns. Her second collection, Normal Kingdom Business was published in late 2006.
