    Mindy Belz

    WORLD magazine

    Mindy Belz is editor of WORLD magazine. She has written for WORLD since 1986, becoming the magazine's international editor in 1994 and its editor in 2004. She has covered war in Africa, the Balkans, Afghanistan, and the Middle East. Her reporting has been published overseas, as well as in First Things, the Charlotte Observer, Frontpage Magazine and the Washington Times. She has appeared on Fox News and ABC News and is a regular guest on radio talk shows. She is a former Capitol Hill staffer, and attended George Washington University. She makes her home in North Carolina. Mindy has been a WJI teacher.   more >

  • Leigh Jones

    Leigh Jones

    WORLD on Campus

    Leigh Jones is editor of World on Campus, a website offering news from a Christian perspective for college students and young adults. Before joining the World News Group, Jones spent seven years as a newspaper journalist, covering education and local government. She has been an early adapter of technology in the newsroom, leading the charge for blogging and Twitter use. In 2008, Leigh covered Hurricane Ike for the Galveston County Daily News, later writing a book about the storm's effect on the small barrier island on the Texas coast. Jones is a graduate of the World Journalism Institute and has a bachelor's degree from Texas State University. She and her husband, James, live in Atlanta.   more >

    Dean, World Journalism Institute

    Marvin Olasky is editor in chief of WORLD magazine and the dean of the World Journalism Institute. He is the former provost at The King's College in New York City. He has also taught at the University of Texas at Austin from 1983 through 2008. Dr. Olasky has written 20 books, including The Religions Next Door, Standing for Christ in a Modern Babylon, Scimitar's Edge, Renewing American Compassion, Telling the Truth, Central Ideas in the Development of American Journalism, The Press and Abortion, Prodigal Press, and The Tragedy of American Compassion, which Philanthropy magazine deemed one of “eight books that changed America.” He has written more than 2,000 articles in publications including WORLD, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post, and is often referred to as the intellectual father of compassionate conservatism. Dr. Olasky has degrees from of the University of Michigan and Yale University.   more >

    Russ is the Associate Editor of The Indianapolis Star and Director of Pulliam Fellowship Program. In the past, he has been a reporter for The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Springfield Union, The Indianapolis News, The Indianapolis Star, and the Associated Press. He is the author of Publisher: Gene Pulliam, Last of the Newspaper Titans and a WJI monograph collection of his columns. Pulliam has earned numerous journalistic awards and has his B.A. from Williams College.   more >

    Les Sillars is Director of Journalism and Assistant Professor of Journalism at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia. He is the Mailbag Editor for WORLD magazine and a Contributing Editor for Salvo Magazine. He earned his doctorate in journalism from the University of Texas. He is a former reporter for the Alberta Report. Sillars has been published in The National Post, Reader's Digest, and Calgary Herald. He holds an honors degree from Dallas Theological Seminary and a BA from Briercrest Bible College.   more >
